Little is know of Andrew at this time.  It is assumed that he was born around 1856 in Uzh [R]/Ung [H] County, Subcarpathian Rus', Kingdom of Hungary (present day Ukraine); and died around 1902 in Uzh/Ung County, Subcarpathian Rus', Austria-Hungary. He married Marija "Mary" Pavlik, date unknown, they had five children.

Mary was born in the village of Bystryj, [Rusyn [R]/Hatarszog [H]/Verchovyna-Bystra [U], Uzh [R]/Ung [H] County, Subcarpathian Rus', Austria-Hungary (present day Ukraine) around 1867; and died in 1935 in Bystryj.

According to a family source, the family owned a large area of land and they were wealthy farmers. However, it is believed that a family member who wanted to bring himself into another's favor betrayed Andrew, causing the family to lose their land supposedly by force.
